Financial Advice by the Hour

Why Hourly Advice Makes Sense?

If you have a simple financial question, like the best way to save for your child’s education, the top life insurance options, or the best investments for your portfolio, you might find yourself out of luck.

Most fiduciary financial advisers charge upfront a large sum of money (high AUM fees, portfolio minimums) to give financial advice and manage your assets, with no guarantees; the rest charge brokerage fees and commissions that have nothing to do with financial planning and everything to do with selling products that often do not make economic sense.

That is where I come in. I have nothing to sell besides my time and expertise. I do not charge AUM fees or receive commissions for selling you products and policies, and I do not need a million-dollar minimum to talk to you. I am a full-time University professor and did not intend to start a side gig of giving other people financial advice. However, after looking at financial advice and planning services options for myself, my family, and my friends, I realized there are few good options for regular folks.

Do you have a financial question? I most likely have the answer. It’s as simple as that. I charge a fixed hourly fee upfront, so you know exactly how much you are paying and exactly what you are getting.
